Avatar 3 gets its title - and it's a fiery one
James Cameron reveals the name of the third film in his epic sci-fi franchise
The highly anticipated sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water has finally been given a title.
James Cameron took to the stage at this year's D23 Expo to reveal that the third film in his Avatar franchise will be called Avatar: The Seed Bearer.
The film will follow the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, which saw Jake Sully and Neytiri flee their home on Pandora after it was invaded by humans.
Cameron said that Avatar: The Seed Bearer will be a "more mature" film than its predecessors, and will explore the themes of family, love and loss.
"The Seed Bearer is the story of Jake and Neytiri's children," Cameron said. "It's a story about the power of family, the importance of love, and the strength of the human spirit."
Avatar: The Seed Bearer is scheduled to be released in December 2024.
