Country music singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress has apologized for her intoxicated performance of the national anthem at the 2024 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday. The performance drew widespread criticism on social media.
In a statement released Tuesday, Andress said she "deeply regrets" her actions and has entered a treatment program for alcohol abuse. She also apologized to fans, the MLB, and her fellow performers for her "unprofessional behavior."
"I recognize the gravity of my actions and the importance of respecting our national anthem," Andress said. "I am committed to addressing my addiction and becoming a better role model for my fans."
