Brad Pitt Almost Didn't Have His Deadpool 2 Cameo
The Actor's Appearance Was Filmed in Just Two Hours
David Leitch Revealed the Details on a Podcast
In an interview with Ali Plumb for BBC Radio 1, Brad Pitt talked about his brief time on Deadpool 2 as the short-lived X-Force member the Vanisher. Pitt revealed that his cameo was filmed over two hours in Los Angeles during postproduction in the spring.
"It was a super small window, but once we had the idea, it came together pretty quickly," Pitt said. "It was a lot of fun to do, and I'm glad we were able to make it happen."
David Leitch, who helmed Deadpool 2, discussed the film during an episode of Happy Sad Confused while promoting his latest film, The Fall Guy. Leitch revealed that Pitt was initially hesitant to do the cameo, but eventually agreed after Leitch explained the character's role in the film.
"Brad was a little bit hesitant at first, but once I explained to him the character and how he fit into the story, he was on board," Leitch said. "He's a huge fan of the Deadpool movies, so he was excited to be a part of it."
Pitt's cameo in Deadpool 2 is a brief but memorable one. The actor appears as the Vanisher, a mutant with the ability to turn invisible. Pitt's character is part of Deadpool's X-Force team, which is assembled to take down Cable.
